A consortium of investors led by Helvetica Capital AG and the Sphinx management team announced the sale of Switzerland-based Sphinx Werkzeuge AG and its wholly-owned subsidiary P. Rieger Werkzeugfabrik AG (“Sphinx Tools”) to Sandvik, a global high-technology engineering group headquartered in Sweden.
Sphinx Tools manufactures precision cutting tools for machining and surgical instruments. The company serves automotive, aerospace, and medical technology sectors. Founded in 1994, it employs approximately 115 people across three production facilities in Switzerland. 2021 revenue was approximately 292 million SEK.
Sphinx Tools will become part of the Sandvik Coromant division. All employees and locations will be retained.
