Helvetica Capital brings Schulthess Maschinen AG back to Swiss majority ownership
Portfolio company: Schulthess Maschinen AG
Swiss entrepreneur-investors have acquired an additional 26% of the shares in Schulthess Maschinen AG (“Schulthess”) by purchasing the corresponding shares in the holding company HC Holding Eta AG. This transaction makes the entrepreneur-investors of Helvetica Capital majority shareholders of the company with 65% of the share capital.
The process began in 2019 when NIBE Group transferred the company, originally acquired in 2011 from the publicly-traded Schulthess Group AG. At that time, NIBE held 51% and Helvetica Capital plus entrepreneur-investors held 49% of the holding company.
NIBE Group's CEO stated that the foundation for the new, solid ownership structure has been laid. The company plans to divest remaining shares within three to four years. Helvetica Capital's Managing Partner emphasized that the company is again in Swiss majority ownership and outlined plans to expand market, product, and service portfolios while advancing internationalization.
